Bros rocketed to fame with the 1988 top ten
single "When will I be famous?" Their
question was answered with the word "Now".
This album became a global smash topping 5
million in sales and producing several more
hits, including their first number 1, "I owe
you nothing". Other tracks worthy of
listening are "Ten out of ten", "Liar",
"Drop the boy" and "Cat among the pigeons"!
'Push' is one of the truest teen-pop
records in the 80s and onwards as well, it
screams of rhythm and other hook-ups, the
trio, soon to be duo, were musicians not
just entertainers with talent and catchy
looks. Of course they suffered a demise very
soon. The peak of their success didn't last
any longer than 1988 after all. The lyrics
at times vary in some childish statements
('Drop the Boy', 'When Will I Be Famous?'),
but from upbeat tempo of the 'Famous?'
track, through to sentimental 'Cat Among the
Pigeons', 'Push' draws a decent line in the
pop history.
